Having a stoma doesn’t have to be a daunting or life-changing experience.
A stoma is a new opening in your abdomen (tummy) that allows products that your body no longer needs to be diverted.
The stoma is named according to the part of the body that it comes out of:
- Colostomy: An opening for waste products from your large bowel
- Ileostomy: Creates a diversion via the small bowel
- Ileal Conduit: Allows urine to drain without a functioning bladder
This beautifully-presented 78 page manual was written by a Stomal Therapy Nurse.
Her purpose was to share her knowledge and experience with everyone who is ready to learn more about the wonders of their body and to embrace a new lease on life with a stoma.
The cost of the manual is AUD$35 (was $60) plus postage & handling.
